Our final Clan Wars event this month will be with the hosts of the Clan Wars Fansite Tournament , RS Wiki! This will be an exciting opportunity to prove our worth in battle. So polish your Rune armor, sharpen your arrow tips and imbue your runes ready for the conclusion of the Clan Wars Tournament.




This battle will be in F2P , so make sure you have Rune Armor and weapons , lobsters and swordfish and wizard robes ready.

Event #1: Clan Wars with Tip.It!

Remember our previous Clan Wars event with Tip.It? If you were part of it, then you know what I'm talking about. Well, guess what.... we're having the same event with them again! This event is a part of the Fan site Tournament designed by RS Wiki, and we're now heading into round two of the tournament. This will be an F2P event, which will be hosted by Tip.It.

Our previous Clan Wars event with Tip.It was a huge success. So why not do the same again?? Second time's the charm, so let's go out there this weekend and show them what we got!!

Event #2: Agility Pyramid Event

Ugh, I hate this place! I need to get to that ticket dispenser, but I don't have high enough agility to use this obstacle. So, I guess I'll go around and find another way... Dang it, I didn't make it in time... All that work for nothing :(. Too bad there's no other place I could go and train agility while also getting rewarded for my efforts. Oh wait.... What about the Agility Pyramid?



Why, of course! There's nothing better than a trip to the good ol' Agility Pyramid. And seeing as everybody loves the Agility Pyramid, the Events Team here at Rune HQ has even decided to pay it a visit for a day of training agility, chatting, and making 1K coins for every lap completed. But watch out... The sun can be scorching so don't forget your desert robes and water skins, as we don't want anybody dying on our account :P

On Saturday the 24th of July at 8pm GMT, 9pm UK time, 1 PM PST, 2 PM Mountain, 3 PM Central. Rune Headquarters will be hosting our section of a new RuneScape tournament. The tournament has been organized with Rune Wiki and see's the members of RuneHQ, Tip-it and RS Wiki go head to head in the first of a series of battles to determine the Champions of RuneScape.



The first set of Battles will take place in the Soul Wars Arena and the first of those will see RuneHQ go up against RS Wiki in the opening salvo of the competition. Further battles will follow. Please see battle timetable below. The first set of Battles will be hosted in RuneHQ Chat channels. A further 3 battles will be hosted by Tip-it with RS Wiki hosting the final 3 battles.



Please note, although it is a competition, this is being run as a fun event and although we all want to win it overall, we do not want members having a go at members of the other sites on battle days. Anyone found taking this too seriously and being abusive will be kicked from the chat. If you continue you may also get a ban from the site. So come along and support your favorite site and have fun showing the other sites just how good we are.

Relaxing in the Pools All Day!

It's okay, we aren't starting a sing song, well not yet anyway...



While July is often fun and exciting, it seems that the month becomes drearier as it goes along. How so you ask? Well, for one thing, the somewhat hospitable temperatures of the early summer give way to the unbearable heat of August. Meanwhile, those on break from school see their remaining time away dwindle before their eyes. And for those older individuals who've taken a mid-summer getaway, they are now faced with the agony of sitting around an office for the next couple months.



However, no example is more fitting than the 4th of July. For Americans, this particular day is filled with celebrations, food, and festive events. And to top it off, the day is capped with with an inspiring display of fireworks. But, sadly within an hour, nothing remains of the once beautiful spectacle. Soon the sky clears, and the smoke within the air drifts away, marking the end. However, within the next few days, the same air welcomes a new guest. And no folks... it's not a bird, it's not a plane, and it's certainly not Superman. Instead, it's the aroma of a barbecue.



So with that, we present to you our last event of the month, our P2P Barbecue. And in an attempt to combat the glum feelings that may have consumed you over the past few week or two, we've tried to make it as interesting as possible. Instead of simply having another barbecue consisting of beef or chicken, we've decided to have all of you eat chompy. And for those of you who find the exotic food too strange to swallow, we'll also be hosting other activities including woodcutting, slaying, hunting, and fishing. So go on ahead, and dust off your composite bow, buy some brutal arrows, and let's end the month with a BANG!

ET Dungeon Massacre

Cue the dramatic music, Lights, Camera, Actiiiooonnnnn.



It's all go here in the Events Team as we gear up for a repeat of our biggest and deadliest ever dungeon raid. That's right, Youll be facing Dragons of all sorts, as well as other huge creatures trying to rip the flesh from your bones. Dog's will gnaw at you to get you out into the open so the rest of the beasts can catch and devour you.



However, the rewards are well worth the risk as you carry your haul of hides and bones and other such drops back to your bank and rake in the money, as well as getting a few skills up maybe. So, where are we going this time. We will be heading out into the Brimhaven dungeon, just south of the Brimhaven portal and farming patch. But that's not all, remember the 1st time we went there ? remember fighting dragons to the sounds of battle themes from Lord of the Rings, Star Wars and Mission Impossible, well, we are doing it all again so make sure you tune in to Radio 1 on runehq as you battle the monsters and Demons of this vast dungeon. And carry out the spoils of war as the battle themes ring all around.

A prayer for the Dragons

Wanting something to do with all those Dragon bones that you got from the Dungeon massacre in Brimhaven ?? Read on then....



Ever been envious of other players with high prayer? Or seen someone do the prayer cape emote and thought "I want that !!!" Well we are giving you all the chance to get yourself the maximum prayer points possible outside of the Port Phasmatys Ectofuntus and it's bone crusher. Even then, the difference between the bonecrusher and a gilded altar with maxed out burners running is very little. A certain member of staff from your beloved RuneHQ has volunteered to open up their house for one day only and let all of you in to get your prayer points up as far as you can manage. The staff POH details will be posted just before the weekend to avoid getting hit en masse with friend requests.

New Public Ventrilo Server!

Hey everyone, a few days ago we switched over to a brand new public Ventrilo server! Ventrilo is a neat piece of voice communication software you can download for free from ventrilo.com. With Ventrilo and a headset or microphone you can talk with fellow RuneScape players and RuneHQ users about anything and everything. Even if you don't have a mic, you can still listen in and have a good time.

This new server is accessible to everyone, even if you don't have a RuneHQ account. However, if you would like to access some of the private channels you will need to create a RuneHQ account and then request a personal Ventrilo account.

Additionally, we will be offering exclusive private channels to established RuneScape clans, groups, teams, etc. to anyone who requests one. Just send a private message to a Ventrilo Staff Member with your channel request to get your own channel.

At a whopping 400 user limit capacity, this server should always have room for everyone, so we are now allowing you to stay connected at all times - just remember to move yourself to the AFK channel if you've wandered off ;)

New Site Design

After many years of the same dark, black and blue feeling, we've finally given ourselves a makeover! This design has been in the testing phase for approximately a month with all users being able to take a sneak peak at it since last week (it was posted on our Forums).

We hope this will provide you with a better RuneHQ Experience, but if you really dislike the look, you have the option of reverting to the old site through your User Control Panel. There will be a few things that are not completed yet, but the majority of the site should be functioning just like you'd expect. If you find a bug, head on over to our forums and post it in the Tracker. If you have a suggestion, hop over to the Site Suggestions board and let's hear it!

Platinum Level Fansite Status

In other news, Jagex recently released an updated list of supported fansites - sites that receive exclusive interviews with members of Jagex staff, concept art from certain updates, support with competitions/events they run, occasional sneak previews, and more. Fansites are given various levels of support (Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum) depending on a number of factors including the size of the fansite, how community-orientated they are, and how much support they offer players.

To quote Mod Hohbein, "Platinum level fansites are, quite simply, awesome." That being said, I'm pleased to announce that RuneHQ has been given Platinum Status recognition, one of the very first fansites to receive this recognition! We'd like to take the time to thank the entire RuneHQ Community for sticking with us these past 7 years - without your support, suggestions, feedback, and patience we would not be where we are today. Here's to another 7 years!

RuneHQ Summer BBQ!

The scent of fresh meat is floating in the air, the birds are singing, the sun is shining and the summer has arrived in earnest.. it's time for you to come to cool down at the RuneHQ Summer BBQ! Come and enjoy the sultry sunny summer sunshine with your friends on the grass beside the beautiful river Lum. Here, the fresh cow meat will be grilled as delicious beef steaks and all Fred the Farmer's vegetables will be cooked as tasty vegetable skewers!



While the others are drinking beer, you can just hang out and relax with your friends or help us to slaughter cows or make campfires. However, if you don't want to join our crazy dancing festival which will be held in the ruins of the gnomecopters, you might want to train your skills: there is a mining site, a willow thicket and a low-level fishing spot, what a wonderful place for chillin' and skillin'.

Anyway, on to the main event. You've guessed right! This month, for our high level event, we shall travel deep into that dark region of Gielinor, infested with thieves and restless souls, only to pay a visit to our beloved friend, the King Black Dragon! So run to your bank, grab your best weapon, shield and potions and be ready, because this shall be no tea party!




Warning: This is a dangerous event, please bring only the items you are willing to lose. In the event of your death, a grave will appear in the boss' lair. A member of the ET will do their best to bless your grave but we can give no 100% guarantee.

And remember, be sure to bring your Anti-dragon shield and antifire potions or just your super antifire potions, or you might end like this:
