You Choose Month!

With 2011 now upon us, the Events Team at Rune HQ has decided to turn over a new leaf. For the first time in our history, we are letting you (the players) select which events you'd like to participate in. While we normally give players the option to post suggestions for future events, we decided to give each player much more influence for once. Instead of having you post in our ancient Event Ideas topic, we have created a special topic just for the upcoming month. In that topic, you can state the events that you'd like for us to host. Once we've received enough feedback, we will select the top responses and enter them into a poll. From there, the top vote getters will be identified and be chosen as our events for the month of February.

In order to submit your choices for our upcoming events, please visit this forum topic. Once there you will be able to select one boss monster hunt, one activity, one skilling event, and one original event that you'd like us to host during the month of February. However, please make sure that you follow the directions.

And lastly, to increase the amount of feedback we receive, guests can now respond to topics in the Official Events Forum. In other words, you no longer have to register an account to post in this part of the forums (though you must have an account to post in other parts of the forums). So head on over to the forums today and take a minute to cast your ballot.

I'd like to apologize to all our loyal visitors who have had to put up with the slow loading or completely inaccessible website lately. There have been a few behind the scenes issues preventing us from figuring out exactly what the cause was, but I believe we are getting it under control now. Whether or not this latest fix I've applied is a permanent solution or not is yet to be determined, but I assure you we will do everything in our power to keep the site running smoothly.

Once again, I'm sorry for all the trouble lately, but I thank you for putting up with us and continuing to help make this one of the best fansites ever! If you'd like to discuss this specific issue, I've created a topic on our forums for you to do so: Recent Site Slowdown.

Whether or not you have a forum account, EVERYONE is welcomed to join us for a discussion on certain aspects of our site and forums. Christmas Ventrilo Karaoke!

Cheering, laughs, and people muted so we can hear (haha) are some of the things you will find next in our list of scheduled seasonal events that we've planned just for you and the community to enjoy! The event which is, *cough* drum roll please? *Drum roll*...Our Christmas Ventrilo Karaoke!!!

Remember: The first hour we will be singing Christmas songs only. Then we are going to do an open karaoke after that, for you to sing whatever you like (as long as the content is appropiate, please note that).

Jagex has just made a news post stating they are considering bringing back both the old wilderness and free trade! We would love to hear your thoughts on this and have already started a topic on our forums for you to voice your opinion on the matter (Yes, Jagex does read our forums!).

There are positives and negatives to both sides, so consider it carefully before making any decisions. If you DO want these features brought back, head on over to the Jagex Voting Page to increase the number. BE CAREFUL! Clicking to vote means you want the wild and free trade back. There is no yes or no option like normal polls.

In other news... The Christmas event has been released, so make sure to log in game and go check it out. Tons of new emotes! The year of 2011 will also bring around a chance to win $1,000 every month (10 players per month) for the entire year! To enter this competition, you simply need to have a active membership each month.

Damage soaking has just been released. This is a pretty large change to the combat system. How will it affect you? Will this completely change PvP? How will pures respond to this? Discuss.

This will also mean we need your help to get our ItemsDB updated as quickly as possible. We've already made the change to show the damage soaking percentage, but we need your help to get the info on all the damage soaking. Please submit any new info you have to into our Submissions Forum!

RuneHQ Christmas Parade 2010!

December is here again and as always, you're invited to join our traditional Christmas Parade! With a little help from our Fremennik friends, we hope to have the biggest RuneScape Christmas Party ever!



Starting out in Rimmington, we are going to form the largest parade in RuneScape history. After going through all of the cities within the Kingdoms of Asgarnia and Misthalin: including Falador, Lumbridge, and Varrock, we are going to end up in Al Kharid. Once there, we are going to talk to the Fremennik shipmaster and take a boat ride to Daemonheim in which (update pending :P) the Christmas event will take place. At that point, you'll be able to participate in the Heimland Games; with events including snowball fighting, snowman decoration, ice skating and even seal sliding!



To maximize the fun, The Big Parade and Christmas at O Little Town of Daemonheim will be run simultaneously on both F2P and P2P worlds. So gather up some friends, dust off your favorite Christmas outfits, and for those of you who just want to pelt the ET members with snow balls, don't forget your snow globe. Then join us as we spread a bit of holiday cheer throughout Gielinor.

RHQ December Event #1 - BARROWS!

Ever been to the God Wars dungeon and wondered, "Man, this place is too challenging for me", or have you ever been to a place like Pest Control and said, "Wow this place is really easy!"? Well, for this week's event, we have decided to go for a challenging, yet easy and fun minigame..... Barrows!!!



Yes, we are going to venture through the tunnels for a day facing every brother and monster we meet, and if we are lucky we might even get some good loot! So don't forget your combat gear! Be sure to check out the Barrows guide, if you have never been there.
