RuneHQ's Featured Member is here. Well, not quite here, because we need your help to make it happen!



What is a Featured Member? Is this an award?



You bet it is! Featured member is a way to recognize our beloved members. It's essentially a new start for what was previously known as Member of the Month. But with this change, everyone can nominate candidates for the Featured Member award. We shall be choosing the Featured Member for RuneHQ every 2 months, so the first one will be for the period of January-February.



Who should I nominate? Can I nominate a staff member?



No, you cannot nominate staff members. This award is for us staff to show our appreciation to our community members. You can nominate someone (again, ONLY NON-STAFF) who is active on RuneHQ and has made a difference to your stay here. It could be someone who is constantly making interesting posts that you just love to read. Or maybe someone who is very helpful answering all your RuneScape questions. Or maybe someone who has just written a smashing new guide on the latest quest that you really found helpful. Or maybe the person is a life and soul of RuneHQ Ventrilo, IRC or clan chat. The person has to have RuneHQ forum account, though. Staff can not be nominated because Featured Member is designed specifically to celebrate non-staff members ONLY.



How can I nominate someone?



If you think of someone deserving, then just send a PM with this person's forum name to either Double_D_Edd or Graystar and add a short explanation why you think this person deserves to be RuneHQ's Featured Member. We'll treat your nomination as confidential information and won't tell anyone who you nominated.



What happens after I send in my nomination?



We collect all the nominations, put those up for a vote amongst staff, who will pick the winner!



What's so good about being Featured member?



The winner gets announced in our forums and gets a neat under-banner and Featured Member icon to show off. The member's name and RuneScape character will be displayed on the site. There are also some nifty prizes, but that's a secret. Stick around to find out!

Capture the Flag

Flag taken, flag dropped, flag taken, flag dropped.

Well, not quite Halo, but our next activity involves everyone's favorite style of game play, capture the flag! Runescape style! If you still haven't guessed the activity well where have you been? A place where the two Gods, Saradomin and Zamorak settle their differences and it's upto you who you side with as we play Castle Wars!

In this PvP envrionment, you can use whatever means to destroy your opponents in a safe area (so bring your best stuff!) in order to penetrate their defences and capture their flag for your own, or you may want to hold back and defend the fort using barracades and the catapult!

The Prisoner of Glouphrie Quest Guide

Within one day of the release, we are very pleased to present The Prisoner of Glouphrie Quest Guide. Let's give a big round of applause to Haevens Vibe and our Content Editing Team for getting the guide up so quickly!

Fortunately we were able to provide this quest guide for you even though Nick tried to replace his laptop battery with magic and Ian was carried off by a hawk.

So drop what you're doing (you won't need any items for this Master Quest!) and head over to the Tree Gnome Village to help rescue Bolrie from his centuries-long imprisonment.

Warring Against the Gods!

To start February off with a bang, the first event of You Choose month shall be a boss event! The most popular option was God Wars by a size-able margin, so we're going to be visiting all four of the bosses this weekend.

We'd like you to have already obtained your killcount before the event starts, so we can get started faster with more people. These bosses are very dangerous, so make sure you don't bring anything you're not willing to lose. However the members of the Events Team and other people at the event will surely bless your grave.

This event will be Coinshared. If there's anything you need to know, reading our very own God Wars Dungeon guide should fill you in.

Wilderness & Free Trade

Today we welcome the return of our much beloved wilderness, PKing, and free trade! It has been just under 3 years and 2 months since these features were drastically changed or removed from the game. The majority of voters made it clear they wanted the old game back, and it's finally here.

Corporeal Beast Event

Do you think you can face its wrath, and avoid joining the darkness? Better yet, can you defeat the beast and send it packing? Then join the RuneHQ events team, as they tackle the Corporeal Beast in hope's to reclaim the dark cave from this ferocious beast. Be prepared for the fight of your life against one of RuneScape's toughest monsters. Will you fail to prevail, or will you give the monster a run for its money?

The dangers are high, but the rewards are higher. Whether you come alone, or as a team, you'll need all the strength you can get if you want to defeat this beast.

RuneHQ Weekend Events!

The Events Team has a nice mix up of combat and non-combat events this weekend!

The first event is The Great Orb Project, an activity designed to test everyone's teamwork skills. Players must get their team's orbs to the Runecrafting Altar whilst repelling their opponent's orbs. After each round is over, both teams will get some Rune Essence so that they may craft some Runes and get experience along the way. Those who master their teamwork abilities will be rewarded with Tokens, which may be use to purchase items to enhance your Runecrafting Experience.

Our second event for the weekend will be the Fight Pits. So, do you think you're the best in RuneHQ? Prove it! In this event, everyone will come together in a free-for-all to determine who is the strongest player out of us all! Players who prove themselves will be recognized as a champion, and handsomely rewarded in a large amount of tokkul! So come along and have some fun at the Fight Pits!

RS Teaser Images

This week, we will see the first release in the series of so called "seasonal content". The citizens of Fremennik are looking of warriors who are brave enough to venture into the woods in search for the legendary wolf, Hati. Those who survive the battle will be awarded with a new pair of gloves, granting twice the combat XP for 10 hours.

10th Anniversary Event!

It's been 10 glorious years of RuneScape, and the cake wasn't a lie! To celebrate this momentous occasion, RuneHQ is teaming up with some of the biggest Fan sites such as Tip It, RuneScape Wikia, and other Communities such as RS Outreach, Battle a Mod and Spirits of Arianwyn in an exciting game of Fist of Guthix, to honor Guthix in his creation of Gielinor!

The event itself will be Free to play, meaning that everyone is welcome to join! So polish up your Rune Armor, dust off your robes, and tan that dragonhide as everyone comes together in possibly one of the biggest events in Runescape History!
