New Features to RuneScape

Yesterday, Jagex initiated a variety of changes that have had quite an astounding effect. These changes include a RuneScape wiki, an events section for the coordination of events, a brand new site, and a complete graphic overhaul to RuneScape's interfaces!

New RuneScape Website

Jagex has announced a couple days ago that they will be releasing a new website design that will feature a brand new RuneScape logo, as well as the ability for the community to edit website content similar to Wikipedia.

The teaser images we released before have been retracted. A slight mistake was made on the part of Jagex sending them out, as the Wilderness update will not be happening this month anymore. We apologize for any confusion.

Dicing is Dead

Jagex has announced on their forums today that Dicing has finally been disabled!

Breaking Dicing

Today we have taken the step to disable dice in the game. From today they will no longer work, and next week we will remove them all from the game. This was due to the amount of scamming and general “bad use” of these ingame dice items. While we strongly believe that what you do with your treasure is entirely up to you, we have had to step in to deal with this issue.

What do we mean by “bad use” of dice items? Well, gambling for GP was never the intention of the dice. There is no support for PvP gambling within RuneScape and we do not intent to add any. Gambling is a risky pastime and nobody should ever rely on gambling to make money.

Also, there was a high degree of scamming or general bad behaviour when using dice, particularly since the removal of bots a few weeks ago. While we hope that players are “streetwise” enough to recognise a scam, it’s not always the case. Sometimes we have to step in and change the game.

Apologies for not doing something sooner. Since we brought back free trade we really have tried to leave it up to the player to decide what’s right and wrong. But the overwhelming feedback from the forums is that we have to just stop the problem.

Don’t gamble! There are too many people who will try to scam you or alter the odds in their favour. It’s never supported by JAGEX unless it’s about gameplay (like the duel arena). It’s likely that dice scammers will move over to another method of trying to scam you, so please, be vigilant and remember... if it sounds too good to be true, it’s probably a lie.

Just don’t do it.

Although we just gave a shoutout to a number of wonderful achievements recently, I'd like to give a special mention to someone who just received a trimmed achievement cape a few minutes ago.

RuneHQ Event - Castle Wars!

West of Yanille lies a stadium like no other! Your strength may not be the only thing needed to conquer your opponent as you have to use your brains and wits to gain victory. Sneak through the underground passage, or go against your opponent head on in the battlefield. Duck and cover as an aerial barrage of catapult ammunition flies over your head!



Whether your a melee master, a ranger, or a wizard you have to bring your best if you want to win this game of capture the flag. That's right. The RuneHQ Events Team will be holding a Castle War event. Whether you're new to the game or a veteran of the sport, come out and join us for some fun, earn tickets torwards prizes, and let your flag capturing skills show who's the boss.

One Piercing Note Quest Guide

The calming atmosphere of the St. Elspeth Citharede abbey has been shattered by the brutal death of one of their beloved Sisters. Examining bodies is a gruesome job, but someone has to do it. Dare you seek out the murderer? Try not to freak out from the scary audio which is at a new level of quality and intensity with this quest.

What are these RS Teasers?



The RS Teasers are images supplied directly by Jagex and sent to us here at RuneHQ. We strive to release them to the public ASAP when we receive them. These images are for the next planned, in-game update. The "week of" is the planned release week, but please keep in mind that sometimes problems occur and an update may be pushed back a week or an update may have to happen out of order due to technical issues. Also keep in mind that RuneHQ is not a part of Jagex!
